Initial Administrator Certification Program
To begin with, the 80-Hour Initial Administrator Certification Program is a mandatory requirement for Administrators and any entity seeking licensure approval from the Department of Social Services for a residential care facility for the elderly.
In addition, the course curriculum includes Health and Safety Code regulations, Title 22, business operations, community resources, psycho-social and physical needs of the elderly, staff management and supervision, and medications.
Participants additionally receive instruction related to the responsibilities of operating and managing a residential care facility for the elderly.
For example, the program covers important regulatory, resident care, staffing, and facility management requirements.
Furthermore, participants gain practical knowledge that supports their role as Administrators.
Finally, the individual must complete the 80-Hour Initial Administrator Certification Program and pass the state licensing examination with a score of 70 percent or better.
Administrator Certification Class Schedule
Additionally, the Administrator Certification Program consists of five weekends, for a total of 10 days.
Classes are also held on Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
